Haderlump Spring/Summer 2025 – AERO

Day 2 at Berlin Fashion Week saw HADERLUMP, by far my favourite German fashion brand, reveal their latest collection, “AERO,” at the historic Tempelhof Airport. The scene was nothing short of spectacular—Hangar 6, vintage aircraft, and over 700 exclusive guests. HADERLUMP’s presentation was, as expected, close to perfection. I love everything about the collection: the styling was on point, and the cast was simply stunning.

The AERO collection took the essence of early 20th-century aviator fashion and made it relevant for today. Figure-hugging bomber and flight jackets, bold closures, advanced pocket placements, and a mix of tight and voluminous designs brought the historical into the contemporary with a delicate touch. Designer Johann Ehrhardt, the creative mind behind HADERLUMP, was inspired by none other than Amelia Earhart—a feminist icon and aviation pioneer. The homage to Earhart wasn’t just fitting; it was invigorating.

The brand’s dedication to craftsmanship in their Berlin atelier, using only deadstock materials, continues to push boundaries. The question posed in their AERO collection poem—”What future shall we explore together?”—invites us to consider our ecological footprint thoughtfully.

A glance upward to the sky.
Spatial ambitions.
Between blue and black, the gleaming metal of machines,
steel, born of dreams.
Endless possibilities.
We take off for another tomorrow.
Yet to learn to fly is to learn to fall.
Beside each discovery lies a wreck.
Protect yourself, there will be darkness.
Feel the fuel in the shimmering air.
Exploration and exploitation of our world.
A pioneer’s story shaped our here and now.
What future shall we explore together?

The distinct collaboration with Wolf Vostell’s family is a standout. The “B-52 Lipstick Bomber” motif on silk scarves added a layer of artistic profundity to the collection, symbolizing world peace in the most fashionable way possible.

As I mentioned earlier, I loved everything about the new collection. The styling and the cast were exceptional, and each fashion look was on point, hitting all the right notes. From the moment the first model stepped onto the runway to the finale, every piece spoke volumes about HADERLUMP’s artistic vision and commitment to quality.

AERO is more than just a collection; it’s a meta-commentary on our times—requiring the boldness of visionaries like Earhart and the consciousness to navigate the cultural complexities marked by technology and consumption. HADERLUMP isn’t just leading the conversation; they are the conversation.
