“My name is Zoë Yalden and I am a fashion photographer based in Paris, France. This photo series echoes my vision to reflect the style of Old Master paintings in my fashion imagery through the use of studio lighting and backdrops. I am particularly inspired by artists such as Jan van Eyck and Rogier van der Weyden whose innovative use of oil enhanced the emotional realism in portraiture by new descriptive techniques. My goal is to transport the viewer to another period by reflecting on the style of early Netherlandish paintings. I hope that you enjoy this series.”
